One Blind Advocate’s Push for More Accessible Technology in Nepal

This is the second in a new series of films from disabled Nepali activists who recently completed a DJP filmmaking workshop in Kathmandu.

For blind people in Nepal, technology can make everyday tasks more accessible, but it can also create barriers when accessibility is left out. Khom Raj Sharma of the Nepal Association of the Blind demonstrates tools he uses in his daily life and conducts accessibility audits of websites to help make them more inclusive. “Disability is a human diversity,” he says, urging developers to consider disabled people from the beginning when designing new technology.
